David Ramón Zayas
David Ramón Zayas (he/him) is a playwright, director, and actor in central Pennsylvania. David is originally from metro Detroit, where he began his professional theatre work. Previous playwriting credits include Beowulf, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Southern Gothic, Choose Your Own Play: Space Vampire, Choose Your Own Play: Hijacked!, and several short plays for young actors adapted from classic literature including Spartacus, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Fun Club, The Little Mermaid, and The Count of Monte Cristo. He has taught several theatre courses and serves on the board for the Stage Door Series through Gamut Theatre Group in Harrisburg, PA, where he lives with his husband and their pets. He studied theatre and linguistics at Eastern Michigan University. Outside of the theatre, he works as an advocate for victims of Domestic Violence and child abuse, a calling that informs his writing.
